Hello, my name is Mrs. Taylor. I have been teaching art for sixteen years and absolutely love sharing my passion for art and creating with others. I'm often asked what is my favorite medium to work in but I have not been able to pick just one!
Everybody loves art! In art class students will learn to create and design 2D/3D art projects using many types of art mediums like paint, clay, paper mache, india ink, sharpies, markers, and colored pencils. Art projects are based on art fundamentals which have been learned throughout elementary art lessons. This will allow students to become creative with art projects and have fun at the same time.
Sixth grade art is pass/fail and is set up for students to participate when present. There is no make up work or project work done outside of class.
Seventh grade is semester long and we begin to work on growing our skill set as it pertains to drawing, some painting, and usually one clay project. This grade level is provided with a sketchbook to be used in class and for our six home work drawings. Each nine weeks has three outside drawings to be completed for credit.
Eighth grade is year long and we will work to better refine our art skills and exposure to more mediums. As eighth graders students will work extensively in drawing and painting, mixed media and clay pieces. Each student is supplied with a sketchbook to be used throughout our class for nine week drawings (homework), class notes, working out ideas, and visual journaling.
